And here is my tenth poem for NaPoWrimo. Based on some very interesting species of Zooplankton, Radiolarans are as tiny, alien creatures hidden in the vastness of the sea.

The Reasonable Radiolaria

Predatory beings live
In unicellular form
Neither animal nor plant
existing beyond the norm.
A living buoy within the sea
fighting to stay alive
like so much organic debris
waiting for opportunity to arrive.
Drifting along currents of ocean,
these non-motile species
lack locomotion.
Sharing elemental riches
in return for defense.
Oh, little Radiolaria -
so no-nonsense.
